Public Relations Society of America Oregon Chapter (PRSA Oregon Chapter) is the premiere communications, public relations and marketing chapter serving the state of Oregon, and Clark and Skamania counties in the southwest region of Washington state.

Our chapter was established in 1959 as the Columbia River Chapter. It went through a few iterations before its present incarnation was established in 2017 as the PRSA Oregon Chapter. We have about 200 members. Additionally, there are three Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapters at Washington State University Vancouver, University of Oregon and George Fox.

PRSA Oregon serves a diverse community of professionals, empowering them to excel in effective, ethical and respectful communications on behalf of the organizations they represent and the constituencies they serve. We provide and foster:

Lifelong learning and professional development.

Vibrant, diverse and welcoming professional communities. Recognition of capabilities and accomplishments.

Thought leadership, ethics and professional excellence.

PRSA Oregon is one of dozens of chapters within the Public Relations Society of America, a leading communications organization serving PR professionals throughout the United States.

The national PRSA organization was born in 1947 when the American Council on Public Relations and the National Association of Public Relations Counsel merged to form the Public Relations Society of America.

PRSA has marked many milestones along its 75 years journey. It established a strong network of chapters across the U.S.; created a student-focused organization; established a PRSA Code of Ethics, which is revered for its critical guidance for PRSA members; and launched an Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) process, the most essential credential in the public relations world.
