The incumbent serves as the Web Manager/Publications Officer who works for the Willamette National Forest (60%) and the Siuslaw National Forest (40%). The incumbent will be supervised by the Willamette National Forest Public Affairs Officer. The incumbent is responsible for managing both forests’ public-facing websites and social media, including tracking analytics; developing, editing, and publishing content; ensuring online content is up-to-date and accurate; managing administrative controls; and coordinating outreach and internal communications to develop and implement online communications strategies. The incumbent will provide technical expertise and advice related to web and social media best practices to forest employees. Working with the Regional Visual Information Specialist, the incumbent will design communications materials and manage printing and publication requests from field staff. The incumbent will provide backup support to public affairs officers and may attend to other public affairs duties as assigned.

Due to the nature of shared positions, the incumbent should possess strong organizational skills to manage a multitude of assignments and competing priorities. Regular travel between forests’ headquarters and occasional travel to ranger district offices on both forests will be expected.
