PRSA Oregon is a volunteer-run organization. Serving with us is a chance to accelerate your career and form relationships that last a lifetime. It’s also the single best way the chapter can aid you in your professional development journey.

As a volunteer, we’ll help you find find the right experience to match your available capacity and professional development goals, for instance:

  • Gain supervisory experience
  • Identify prospects for future hiring or collaboration
  • Contribute projects you are passionate about
  • Become a C-level executive of an organization with nearly 300 “employees”
  • Help shape the definition of public relations in our region

Sample Volunteer Roles

Newsletter Editorial Manager

Time commitment: 6-12 hours per month 
Do you love to write? Collect information and data? Do you like to be “in the know”? If you answered yes to any of those questions, you should consider volunteering to work on the PRSA Oregon Newsletter editorial team because you would be perfect for the role.

The newsletter is sent bi-weekly and will give you the opportunity to get to know PRSA Oregon leadership, upcoming events and updates.

On-Site Event Support

Time commitment: 2-8 hours 
Assist with the event setup, collateral organization, registration booth, speaker introductions, on-site social media, etc.

Advocacy Content Specialists

Time commitment: 4-6 hours per month

Assist the Advocacy committee by writing articles for the PRSA Oregon newsletter on a rolling monthly basis (alternating with other content specialists). The perfect chance to network with other members, some content ideas include interviewing chapter members or doing a feature on a past Spotlight Award winner.

PRSA Oregon Asset Agent

Time commitment: 2-5 hours per month 

Want to be an asset to the PRSA Oregon team? If you are quick with a computer, interested in production and want to get involved with PRSA – you are the perfect fit for the Asset Agent. You would be tasked with compiling asset images including logos, headers and headshots on the PRSA Google Drive. A quick project, this is still a great way to connect with PRSA members and discover new opportunities.

WordPress Content Wizard

Time commitment: 2-5 hours per month 

If you have some experience in WordPress, PRSA Oregon could use your knowledge in blog migration as part of the new website launch project. The work will include migrating former WordPress pages and blog posts from to

Production Assistant – Logo Creation

Time commitment: 2-5 hours per month 

If you have a background using Illustrator, PS or InDesign and have an interest in post-production work, this is the job for you. Download source assets from the PRSA National chapter, then use Illustrator to create files for the PRSA Oregon logo. The logos will be used everywhere, so this work is appreciated.
